Products for your health and home went high-tech at the Annual Home and Housewares Show that just wrapped up at McCormick Place. Many innovations of the future are already here today-- and some of them you'll find you won't want to live without.......
......Some looks can be deceiving. It looks like a TV -- but it's much more.
"What we've done is embedded a 15 inch LCD-TV into the microwave that's also a DVD player," said Stanley Kowal, Daewoo Electronics America Inc. Daewoo hopes to have a unit like this prototype ready sometime next year. But this fall, for about $99 the company is launching a line of smart microwaves.
It operates by the sound of your voice. And if you find doing the laundry confusing, a voice-activated washer and dryer could simplify that chore. Now if they only can come up with a system that automatically folds all the clothes.
"We haven't gotten there yet, once we do you can take the whole laundry market by storm!" said Stanley Kowal, Daewoo Electronics America, Inc. Daewood hopes to have the voice recognition washer and dryer out sometime next year. No price tag as of yet.
